Experience the Southeast Community Day Parade & Festival

Southeast Community Day Parade and Festival was founded in 1991 by Andrew Shannon to bring a joyful yearly event to the Newport News, Virginia community. This Hampton Roads favorite has excited the community for over 30 years and still continues to bring a spirit of happiness.

Feeding 5000

The Andrew Shannon Feeding 5000 event began in 2001. This service to building a stronger community has been able to provide meals to so many, including across the greater Hampton Roads and Richmond areas.

Gospel Music Celebrations & Concerts

Concert performances have included: Koryn Hawthorne, Byron Cage, Luther Barnes, Kurtis Blow, Glenn Jones, Maurice Yancey and One Accord, Half Mile Home, Bobby Jones, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Jor’Dan Armstrong, Jekalyn Carr, JJ Hairston, Dorothy Norwood, and more!

Meet Andrew Shannon

Andrew Shannon is the founder and organizer of Southeast Community Day Parade and Festival, which is the largest Parade in the City of Newport News, and attracts over 60,000 attendees annually with Feeding 5000 and the Andrew Shannon Gospel Music Celebration. Shannon is celebrating 31 years of service to humanity and “Building A Stronger Community.”
